Influenced by East-Asian monsoon, Nanchang city with its surrounding area has subtropical monsoon climate with distinct seasons. Summers and winters are much longer than the other two seasons.

 

Winters are short and cool with occasional frosts, however, it will gradually become wetter and colder. Summers are long and humid with the highest temperature amongst all the other provincial capitals in China; summertime is also the sunniest time of the year for the sun shining reaches 60% in July and August. The best travel time is from March to May and from September to November. The best time to see migrant birds is November.
