On 21 October, Weifang-Yantai high-speed railway opened for operation. The fastest time between Weifang North Station and Laizhou, Zhaoyuan and Yantai Stations can be reached in 24, 34 and 78 minutes. Laizhou and Zhaoyuan are connected to the national high-speed railway network.

The maximum speed of Weifang-Yantai high-speed railway is at 350 kilometers per hour. Up to 20 trains per day will be operated. After the opening of this high-speed railway, cities include Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai can be interconnected easily.
