China Eastern Airlines will launch the first direct flight from Shanghai to Shigatse stops in Xi’an on May 1. This new route connecting Shanghai, Shaanxi and Tibet will becoming the first direct air route linking Shanghai to Tibet’s regional airport.

 

This flight operated twice a week from May 1 to October 25. It will significantly cuts travel time, offering easier access to Shigatse - known as the ‘Land of Everest’ in Tibet.
